Brad is driven to make health a more seamless part of people’s lives. An important focus is how to design care experiences in tandem with technology. He is committed to ensure that digital care experiences work effectively for patients and clinicians. In addition to his role at Inception, he is on faculty at the Medical College of Wisconsin Collaborative for Health Care Delivery Science. He received his MD and MPH degrees from Harvard, and is board certified in internal medicine and clinical informatics.
Research Focus
His scholarly work is in the area of clinical informatics with a special focus on developing innovation in healthcare, especially patient-facing informatics and technology. His work centers on collaboration technology to enhance patient experience and care. He uses a mixed-methods approach to answer many research and improvement questions, and have experience in both quantitative and qualitative methods, and user-centered design.
Biography
Dr Brad Crotty serves as the Chief Digital Engagement Officer for The Froedtert & Medical College of Wisconsin Health System, responsible for leading the digital transformation work of the network which covers 3 acute care hospitals and over 40 health centers. He oversees patient-facing informatics work as well as the integration of digital therapeutics into the care stream. In addition to his leadership role in the clinical enterprise, he serves as the medical director/CMO for Inception Health, a company formed in 2016 by Froedtert & the Medical College to accelerate digital health transformation, partner and lead investments in promising external organizations, and to develop innovative scalable solutions for patients and those who care for them.
Dr. Crotty also is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin, and a member of the Academic Health System’s Collaborative for Healthcare Delivery Science. He continues scholarly work is in the area of clinical informatics with a special focus on patient-facing informatics and technology. His work centers on collaboration technology to enhance patient experience and care. He is a graduate of Harvard Medical School and the Harvard Chan School of Public Health, completed his clinical training in internal medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston where he also served as chief resident and completed a faculty development fellowship. He is board certified in both internal medicine and clinical informatics. He is a fellow of both the American Medical Informatics Association and the American College of Physicians.
